• From an analysis of whether Craigslist was responsible for decimating newspaper classifieds:

    1. It seems obvious in retrospect, but til that the founder of Craigslist is literally named Craig.

    2. Apparently, Craigslist was (is?) an enormously profitable business until as recently as 2018.

      In a 2019 report, Zollman estimated that Craigslist had its best year in 2018, with revenues of nearly $1 billion and a profit margin of more than 80%.

    The post does mention that while Craigslist is predominantly U.S.-focused, it’s present in 700 cities and 70 countries. Having never come across it in India, I always thought Craigslist was a relic of a bygone era; surprisingly not.
